The Splitting発音表記の見方
الرَّحْمَٰنِ르r라흐마니 بِسْمِ비스밀
- 太字 = 単語の強勢がある音節。少し強く。
- 上線 = 長母音（マッド）。2拍ほど伸ばす。朗誦でいちばん大切な長さ。
- 小さい字 = アラビア語に母音がない所。子音だけを短く。
- 小さなラテン文字 = 韓国語にない音。次の音節に付く。f 上の歯で下唇に触れる · θ/ð 舌先を歯の間に · r 舌先を震わせる（ㄹ だけなら l）。
発音表記の見方

- 太く大きい字(ˈ) = 強く、少し長く。単語でいちばん強い音節。
- 薄い字 = 弱く・短く(あいまい母音)。全部の音節を同じ強さで読まないこと。
- 小さい 으・트・스 = ほとんど発音しない。英語にない母音なので、子音だけで止める。
- 単語全体が薄い(the・of・and・to…) = 文の中では弱く速く。名詞・動詞など内容語を強く。
- 小さい f v θ ð r = 韓国語にない音。f 上の歯を下唇に当てる、v 同じ形で声を出す、θ・ð 舌先を歯の間に、r 舌を丸めてどこにも触れない。

この章について
メッカ期に啓示されたスーラに分類されます。冒頭は短い場面描写で、天が裂け、星々が散り、海があふれ出し、墓があばかれるとき、各魂は自分が前もって行ったことと後に残したことを知ると述べます。続いて人間に直接語りかけ、人間を創造し、均整を整え、御心のままの姿に組み立てられた最も寛大な主について、何が人間を欺いたのかと問いかけます。人々は審判を否定するが、高貴な守護者たちが彼らの行いをすべて記録していると指摘し、至福の中にいる正しい者たちと地獄の火の中にいる罪深い者たちとを対比します。スーラは、審判の日とは何かと二度問いかけ、それはいかなる魂も他の魂のために何もできず、すべての命令が神に属する日であると答えて終わります。

When the sky splits apart,

and when the stars are scattered,

and when the seas burst forth,

and when the graves are overturned,

each soul will know what it put forward and what it held back.

O man, what has deceived you about your Lord, the Most Generous,

who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you,
-
8
in whatever form He willed He assembled you?

No! Rather, you deny the Judgement.

And indeed over you are guardians,

11
noble and recording,
-
12
they know whatever you do.

13
Indeed the righteous will be in bliss,
-
14
and indeed the wicked will be in Hellfire.

They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement,
-
16
and they will never be absent from it.

And what will make you know what the Day of Judgement is?

18
Then again, what will make you know what the Day of Judgement is?

It is the Day when no soul will have power to do anything for another soul, and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with God.
